Variegated Roving Scarf

I bought this amazing variegated roving at the Garden State Sheep and Wool Festival.

'In person' it's just lovely...olive and grass green and a bit of red and blue, chartreuse and yellow.

...but the scarf ended up rather dark and not as nuanced as I'd hoped.

I did add a splash of whimsy with some blue bits of candlewicking cotton.

(I bought a huge bag of this yarn at a church rummage sale a few years ago. More 'thrifting'...yay!)

It's fun, 'cause you lay the bits of cotton on as straight as possible, and when they're felted into the piece, they come out all wiggly!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the scarf is sitting atop one of my two lovely Alvar Aalto stools

(Christmas gifts one year from my J.)

That roving looks delish! I wonder how it would have spun up? :)
I will say, I would not have expected it to appear so greyish as it does in the photos, but I really like the way the blue runs through it. :)
