Silk, Selvedge and Scraps Tote- Part 3 of 3

Clusters of beads...

                                                 ...and embroidery stitches...

...define and anchor the felted-in embellishments.

                                        Mexican 'offering charms' (Milagros)...

                                                ...and small metal leaves...

                                                   ...glass and metallic beads...

...and faceted 'gemstones' also found their way onto this bag.

Once I got started, I just couldn't stop...

...(perhaps, sometimes, more really is more?!?) Grin.

                                                   The finished tote back...

                                                                ...and front.

Next time: a new pair of slippers!

it looked great before you embellished it but even more special after. I love the green and blue beads on the pinky/red felt.

I love the clusters of glass beads on the coloured spots by the selvedge.. reminds me of something magnified under a microscope (not sure what though, not being very scientifically minded lol)
Love it!

Sometimes, layer after layer of detail is what actually brings a piece to life. Minimalism has had a good innings - time for ornamentation to come back!

FGF- thanks so much! I like that section, too. :)
Deborah-It doesn't surprise me that this piece looks faintly 'microbial'...lots of my work looks like something from a Biology class!! :)
Rachel-Hahaha...Amen, sister!! :)
