Vintage Sari Silk Nuno Table Runner- Part 2 of 2

                                                       The wetted out project...

                                                ...and mid-way through felting.

The reverse side of the runner.

Getting ready to full the piece.

                                              The finished table runner, drying...

...and after pressing with a steam iron.

This lovely piece of vintage sari silk was a gift from my friend, Deborah...

...and you can see how easily the fibers migrated through the fabric...

...and how the pre-felt squares melted into it during felting...

                                              ...leaving a nice, flat surface.

(A very important attribute in a table runner!)

                                                    The finished project...

...soon to be a wedding gift. :)

This turned out great, I love the simplicity of it! I'm going to try one, I want to make a scarf but don't have a long enough table so this would be a perfect option.

Laura--Yes...it's a good project for limited space!
Rachel--I like it very much...but then again, it's orange!! Giggle.

It turned out beautifully Heather :) I love the double row of tiny squares! And the solid border around the outside. I can't tell from the photos what colour that is, on some it looks gold and on others green? Whichever.. it is a gorgeous piece and what a wonderful wedding gift it will be!

Deborah-I'm glad you thought I did your beautiful fabric justice! :) The border is mid-way between gold and green, but I think it looks more green when contrasted with the butter yellow squares. :)
