'Charmed' Fairy Bag

This tiny project...

...was a 'secret challenge' by my friend, Tylar...

...while we were together in Boulder this spring.

                                                        Her only instruction?

Cut a small shape from resist material...

...cover with wool and embellish as desired...

...leaving a reinforced opening (or 'mouth').

                                                  Because of its diminutive size...

...it seemed to require tiny additions...

...like textured silver and colored glass beads...

...thin shell buttons, mirrors and Milagros.

It's just the right size for magical coins...

                                                  ...(or tiny human treasures!) ;)

Silk, Selvedge and Scraps Tote- Part 3 of 3

Clusters of beads...

                                                 ...and embroidery stitches...

...define and anchor the felted-in embellishments.

                                        Mexican 'offering charms' (Milagros)...

                                                ...and small metal leaves...

                                                   ...glass and metallic beads...

...and faceted 'gemstones' also found their way onto this bag.

Once I got started, I just couldn't stop...

...(perhaps, sometimes, more really is more?!?) Grin.

                                                   The finished tote back...

                                                                ...and front.

Next time: a new pair of slippers!
