Silk, Selvedge and Scraps Tote- Part 2 of 3

Mid-way through felting...


                                           ...I cut "U-shaped" slits for the handle.



                                                           Fulling the felt.

                                    Because the tote looked a little unfinished to me...



                                                  ...especially on this side... 

                                  

                              ...I hand-stitched the surface design sample from Part 1...

                                             ...to one naked section of the tote.



                                      I also added hand embroidery and beads...

                                         ...to some of the other denuded areas.                                



                                           Next time: a riot of embellishment...

                                                 ...and the finished tote.

Deborah-This is why there's no waste with felting...you can always stitch your samples on a place that looks bare!! :)
