Extra Large 'Reptile Skin' Purse- Part 3 of 4

After removing the painter's tape...


                                          ...the 'reptile skin' begins to emerge.



                  Unfortunately, there's no trace of shadowing from my original 'grid' layout...

                                                     ...(as was my hope)...



                                      ...and, in fact, the grid only remains visible...



                                      ...on the interior bottom of the finished purse.



                                            The bag, mid-way through felting...



                                                       ...and during fulling.



                                         Additional sections of variegated roving...


                                           ...are felted into colorful 'dreads'...


                                         ...for use as decorative embellishments.



                                 Next time: a two-part leather strap is fashioned...

                                            ...and the purse is completed! :)

Great shape, I do love a wide bottomed bag :) (ok Fat Bottomed Girls is going in my head now lol)

Love the variegated colours showing between the scales and the colourful cords are great fun!
