The front of the acid-dyed felt...
...and the back.
Here's a peek inside, too.
A hand-fashioned leather closure...
...features a vintage button gifted to me by my friend, Elis.
I used variegated thread to attach the straps and closure.
The finished purse in all of its 'golden' glory (back)...
...and front.
By crumpling up the felt bag...
...into a no-longer-safe-for-food crockpot...
...and adding two different acid dyes...
...I achieved this mottled effect.
A strap and buttonhole closure were fashioned from warm brown leather...
...and were machine-stitched to the purse with variegated thread.

A golden glory indeed!
Came out really nice. It must feel good knowing you can turn things around, because you did a beautiful job on that bag. :)
Dear Heather
I like your style and your bag..the colour reminds me of toast with egg :)
Best wishes from Turkey :)
Oooo Heather LOVE the colour you got with the acid dyes! Works really well with the brown leather fixtures too
xx
Rachel- Thanks!
Sandie- I like it much better, now.
Emiza- So happy to 'meet' you! You're right about the comparison!!! :)
Deborah-I tried it with different colors of leather, but this one looked best to me.
I just love the colors that came from your dyeing technique. Nothing can beat that mysterious randomness. Go, Heather!!
Thanks, Kathy, but it only came from 'shoving' it in the crockpot! Grin.
