"Roaring Twenties Cloche" (Red Version)- Part 1 of 2

Applying fiber from a handmade batt...

...(prepared from wool roving plus dyed tussah silk)...


                                              ...to the surface of my resist.



                                 It's one that was modified from an earlier project...



                         ...in a way that would make a hat that's a bit more 'wearable'! :)



                                                     Wetting out the wool...



                                       ...and, after felting it to the pre-felt stage...

                                            ...making a slit to remove the resist.



                                Next time: more felting and a bit of 'carving' is done...

                                               ...and the hat is completed!

A lovely cheerful colour, and cloches are very useful, aren't they!

Rachel--Yes...much more so than a hat with horns, anyway!! ;)
