"Polish Pottery" Table Topper- Part 1 of 2

Laying out wool roving...


                                       ...and preparing a large, pre-felt rectangle.



                                 Here it is, drying, suspended from a long PVC pipe.



                               Cutting a double layer of navy blue commercial pre-felt...



                                                ...into an amoeba-like shape...



                ...and adding black wool roving to one side only (for added thickness).



                                     Tracing circles onto a piece of freezer paper...



                                   ...and ironing it onto my white, pre-felt 'yardage'.


                           The plastic side of the freezer paper sticks to the pre-felt...

                                   ...allowing clean shapes to be cut from it.

                                           Next time: the project takes shape!
