"Bedecked Christmas Tree" Hat- Part 1 of 4

By enlarging and modifying the resist that I originally crafted for this hat...

...I was able to fashion a tree-shaped resist...

...just the right size for my son-in-law's 'special request' Christmas hat.

Placing my newly created pattern under a sheet of bubble wrap...

...and drawing around it to create a bubble wrap resist.

Using wool and dyed tussah silks in each colourway...

...I created custom blended batts in both brown and green.

Laying out the first layers of wool...

                                                    ...and wetting them out.

After flipping the project to side two...

...and wrapping the wool 'rays' from side one to side two...

Additional layers of fiber were added...

                                                        ...and wetted out.

Next time: I fashion a star for the top of the tree...

...and decorate the Christmas tree 'skirt'! :)
