Embellished Nuno Jacket- Part 3 of 3

Placing thin, flexible foam between the pre-felt layers...

...to act as a resist during felting.

Close-up details: the felted-in medallion and re-purposed nuno bits...

                                                ...the merino roving fringe...

                                                ...and lengths of ribbon yarn.

You can see how the superfine merino roving...

...easily made its way through the layers of silk.

                                                  The jacket collar (front)...

                                          ...and back (with yarn embellishment).

                                                     More close-up details.

                                                         The jacket interior...

...and a view of the back with patterned silk detail.

A leather oval is sewn to the silk side of the felt...

...to act as reinforcement for the button.

                                                 The completed jacket back...

                                                         ...and festive front. :)

It just amazes me when I see garments felted with no sewing. Simply amzing.

The leather reinforcement for the button is a great idea - I do that on any decent coat and then usually never have to replace a button again!

Great collage, textures and design. You're so wonderful in making coat. Love it.

Andrea- This one was basted together in the pre-felt stage and then felted...so some sewing was involved. :)
Rachel-It's esp. necessary when dealing with such thin, flexible felt.
Terriea-Thank-you!!
