...and you can see the subtle shading from the 'hidden' layers of color.

So, this hat certainly turned out a lot thicker and firmer than my last one...
...but I feel like I could 'split the difference' and try a medium weight one next time.
The fish needs a bit of definition (embroidery?) to make it 'pop'...
...and since I trimmed the edge of the hat to get a better fit...
...I need to seal the edges, or edge it with a blanket stitch for a nicer look.
For now, though, I wear this on very cold mornings...
...when I'm feeling a little 'fishy'! :)

Can I call you Goldilocks? The next one will be "Just Right"!
I do love how the color peeps through and does not overwhelm the fish!
Wow, this is turned out so great, love the fish detail, I'm a fish too ;)) the colours are realy great, I made also onces a hat, but it shrunck to much, now it fits my grandsun ;)) I have to make one again ;))
Twój kapelusz, to prawdziwy krok w dziedzinie ochrony przyrody. Po co niszczyć rafę koralową. Wystarczy zamówić u Ciebie tak wspaniały kapelusz. Jest śliczny.
There's a hat that would be fun to wear!
Heather I LOVE this!
Definitely kelp beds I think :) The subtle colouring is very peaceful. I luuurve the shape, and your fishy is adorable! If you added the embroidered definition he would really stand out.. please post pics when you've done your finishing touches :)
xx
That looks great :)
Blanket stitch would be nice around the bottom. I need to make myself a felt hat, I keep buying commercial knit ones but they're just not right.
Kelly--I thought the same thing! (The next hat will be juuuust right!) :)
...I think the fish is a little 'lost' and would benefit from some embroidery, but I just haven't had the time.
Janine--I recently shrunk a favorite hat in the washing machine by accident, too. Boo hoo.
Karolina--I wish it were that easy!
Rachel--It certainly garners attention! :)
Deborah--Hahaha...don't hold your breath for the embroidery. It's been a whirlwind here, lately! :)
Zed--You do such pretty embellishment, your hat would be amazing!
The fish is rather cute, but maybe better on the side? I like the thickness of it. Or is it too stiff because of that? Hats seem to be rather problematical. :)
Sandie--It's not too stiff...it's still pretty soft...but I think hats are supposed to be a bit thinner! :)
