A foam resist in the shape of my 'inner space'...
...and the piece after felting...
...prior to cutting open the felt to reveal layered bits of fabric.
Does my 'inner space' look like someone with a big nose who is yawning?
Or a warthog?
My 'inner space' has a curled prehensile tail...
...and elephant-like 'feet'. :)
It has one 'alligator-eye'...
...and a pig snout appearance from the side!! :)
I recently had the great pleasure of taking a class with Marjolein Dallinga...
...who is one of the most delightful and experimental feltmakers I know!!
For this exercise, we were encouraged to think in 3-D about our 'inner space'...
...and, wow, who knew that mine was so interesting?!? Giggle.

Experimental for sure - I can't even begin to imagine how to get to your finished curly-tailed, elephant-footed piece from the resist you started with!
LOL! Artistic! Love, Alexandra.
Rachel--Hahaha!
Alexandra--:)
Cute 3-D thing with lots skills. The curly tail and the "pleat" are highligts I want to do. Thanks for explaining me how to make the bottom of the bottom board and round smooth.
Terriea--It's always exciting to work with a new master feltmaker, isn't it?!? My head is again filled with ideas!! :)
