More Experimental Fun!!

Wetting out wool...

...and beginning to felt.

My beautiful friend, Lindy, with her work!

The partially felted circle, once dry...

...now trussed up and looking rather botanical!

The finished piece...

...and after 'inversion'! :)

Being in one of Marjolein Dallinga's classes is a wonderful and very freeing thing...

...since her focus is not on a finished product...

...but on new ways of feeling and working!

This study involved hand-dyed silk fabric and wool...

...and it turns out that I like it better 'upside down'!!

(Does that surprise any of you?!?)  Grin.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that sometimes you prefer to turn a piece upside down - sometimes the different viewpoint makes all the difference!

Karen--Oh, yes!! Marjolein is an incredible teacher (and person!!!). She has a unique way of making her
classroom a safe space for pure experimentation...free of competition and egos!!

Rachel--Plus, you know how I love to work 'inside out', anyway!! Giggle.

That is really awesome! Jealous that you get time with Lindy too. One of these days I'll meet more of my blogging friends...and hopefully see you again too.
