My Maryland Sheep &Wool 'Booty' :)

I couldn't resist showing you one more cutie-pie in regal profile!

Some of my 'spoils'!

Raw Jacobs fleece...you know how I love this!! :)

More new roving.

My children convinced me to think outside of my usual color box this time...

...and purchase roving in some new colors!

Although I did buy solid white, grey and black, I was especially happy with my new variegated roving...

...since I think it produces finished felt with depth and a wonderful visual texture.

Of course, I needed to buy some more raw fleece, too...

...(you know how I adore the multi-colored, textural quality of Jacobs wool!)

I indulged myself with a few other fun things, as well...

...pewter buttons with sheep on them, large, colored buttons that look like they were cut from a branch...

...scented handmade soap (patchouli and lavender)...

...a festival tee shirt and note cards...

...and a drop spindle that I now have to figure out how to use!! :)

If you've never had the chance to experience a Sheep and Wool or Fiber Festival...

...I highly recommend planning a trip around one, sometime.

The combination of 'fibery people', amazing supplies and "all wool-all the time"...

...is quite an intoxicating experience!!

aaahhh...now that's what I'm talkin' about!!! LOVE that fleece! And all of the roving, you are going to have a fun, fun, fun, time playing with it all. I bet the soap smells awesome and those "branch" buttons are fab! Thanks for sharing your goodies!

oooh, I love the buttons and the roving is beautiful too. I can't take my eyes of the Jacob. Every time I go to buy some, it's always gone :-( Maybe this year.

oooh, I think you need a summer trip to Michigan. I'll teach you how to spin on that drop spindle...I even have a guest room and a pool too.

I agree about festivals - they are great to plan travel activities around!

You look like you scored some excellently colored fiber. Your swap project is taking shape in my mind!

I love that you attended this festival, Heather, and have the jealous fiber monkey inside of me, too! One of my favorite fiber sellers was ther, along with her mom, who dyes and spins wool into luscious yarn. Your purchases are to dye for!

What beautiful fibers you have purchased. I thought I saw a drop spindle in there. I hope you have fun with it. My first spinner was a RickShaw Spinner, and I managed to figure it out fairly quick. The drop spindle is another matter. Never could get the hang of that, but the wheel was the end all for me. Changed my whole life, and there's no turning back now. :) I see there will be many fun new projects to share in your future. Can't wait to see them all. :)

Val--It WAS great!! You should come for it some year!!
Deborah--I just need to find some TIME!! My girls are home and I'm back to being insanely busy again! :)
Sandie--I don't know how much I'll enjoy the drop spindle, but since I only need to make a little yarn at a time for projects, it should be ok.

Fiona, Dawn and Denise--Your lovely comments just popped back into view (from the black void) after the 'blogger debacle' of last week. Thanks for your sweet notes...and yes, you should definitely try to get to one sometime soon! XXO-
