'Yarn Remnants' Hat- Part 2 of 2

Mid-way through felting...

...colored fibers are starting to come through the white wool.

                                                            The hat interior.

                                                   Blocking the hat for drying...

...using lots and lots of clips!

                                                           The finished hat...

                                                        ...has a rolled brim...

                                                  ...and an asymmetrical top.

                                                 The felted-in yarn remnants...

...now resemble birds, or Chinese dragons...

...and I think they look quite painterly

Color blending is on view here, as well...

...with the pleated top a pale orange shade...

...and the front, the darker wool color.

                                                     The interior of the hat.

(The turned up edge was hand hemmed after this photo was taken.)

                                                           The finished hat...

...along with two of its 'sisters'! :)

Oh I love this one Heather.. The asymmetric top is lovely! And the yarn bits have felted in beautifully - I can see Chinese dragons too :)

Thanks so much, Deborah!
(I'm glad I wasn't just imagining the dragons!) ;)

Yes, "painterly" is a good word. And the pale orange under the top really brings the whole hat to life!
