A new resist shape is drafted from bubble wrap...
...and colorful yarn remnants from my stash...
...are applied to its surface.
A layer of white merino is laid out...
...to cover the yarn embellishments...
...and the project is flipped to side two...
...(where the whole process is repeated).
Back on side one...
...colorful wool roving is applied in stripes.
The hat is flipped over once more...
...and the wool 'rays' are wrapped around the resist to the front.
More bright roving is applied...
...and the project is wetted out.
Mid-way through felting...
...the resist is removed...
...and felting continues.
I've been thinking a lot about color blending lately...
...and this is one of my experiments.
Next time: the finished hat.
