'Silk Bits' Nuno-Felted Bag- Part 2 of ?

Wetting out side one of the bag.

Adding an additional layer of roving...

...plus a small foam resist...

...followed by a layer of silk gauze...

...and 'off camera', an additional layer of wool roving over the silk...

...to make a pocket.

After felting for a time...

...removing the pocket resist.

Cutting the purse opening along the edges of my pre-felt 'frame'.

Removing the 'main' resist...

...and turning the project right-side out.

Additional felting and fulling finishes it off.

After covering both sides of the resist with layers of wool roving...

...I made an internal pocket using layers of wool and silk...

...with a small resist between them.

After felting for a time...

...I removed both resists, turned the project right-side out...

...and continued to felt and full the piece until it was finished.

Next time: The purse is shaped for drying.

It's like magic, wa la! there is a purse! You'll have to start making videos to show us how you turn it this way and add it that way to make the magic happen :-)

Seriously, you should offer a class!

Jess--Thanks for your interest!
Deborah--I'm not even sure how many there'll be this time...I'm just writing one at a time and when I run out of photos, that will end it! Grin.
Vivian--Hahaha...never!! I have a horrible voice 'on camera'...like a little girl's! :)
Kelly--It's pretty different, that's for sure! :)
