Variations On A Red And Yellow Theme- Part 2 of 2

Scarf number two of the pair...

...with irregular holes snipped through its pre-felt surface.

As before, the scarf length...

...necessitated a bit of rolling and unrolling during felting..

...even on my long studio table!

 The project, wetted-out...

...and mid-way through felting.

The finished scarf pair...

...one, demurely ruffled...

...and the other, naughtily pierced! Grin.

Because I prepared quite thin pre-felts for this project...

...the resulting scarves are very soft and supple...

...(nothing like this stiff-as-a-board iteration from my early days as a feltmaker!) :)

I hope that the wearers don't find them too long for true utility...

...and merely wrap them multiple times around the neck for warmth!

As I write this blog post, I find myself giggling a bit...

...since I just now realized that I gave the wild, pierced scarf to the more demure friend...

...and the more modest, ruffled one to the considerably more exuberant friend!

Heather, I also laugh when I pick up some of my earlier felted pieces, most of which are marked by under-felting and clumsy design. Your work is simply delightful!!

Maybe your quiet friend will have a wild moment or two...

Kathy--Thank-you! It's good to look back sometimes, I think.

Rachel--Hahaha...maybe so! :)

Now we know why they say "practice makes perfect."

Isn't it wonderful to be able to look back and see how far you've come in such a short time?

I know what you mean about these scarves being soft and supple, since I have a similar one, and I can attest to that fact. :)
