Since I wanted a little of the fabric to show at the top edge of each bag...
...I cut the linings a bit longer than the burlap.
Unfortunately, I didn't take into consideration the orientation of the blue fabric, prior to stitching...
...and my lining ended up 'upside-down'! (Yeesh)
After attaching the handles and pressing the totes, though...
...I don't think it's all that noticeable! :)
Next time: felt!

Very very good idea of upcycled burlap tote bags. Pity that we do not have such burlap bags locally. Only the nylon materials are used. Burlap bags great to transform to other stuff. Your tote bags are wise for shopping. So chic.

Terriea--I don't often find burlap bags in 'regular' food markets, either. The Latino or Asian food markets are the places to look for them around here! :)

My favourite is the first one.. but think they are both gorgeous. I certainly wouldn't notice that the lining was upside down if you hadn't pointed it out!
Wish food came in those lovely bags over here.. I think I would have to collect them :)
