Love To The Second Power

The fully felted pillow cover.

After trimming and stitching.

The backside view...a soft cotton flannel.

The finished pillow.

Since last we saw 'our hero'...

...I covered it with pale blue batts, followed by a square of cotton scrim the size of my resist.

(I've been finding, lately, that adding a layer of cotton gauze (nuno style)...

...really helps to create a nice, firm pillow front.)

After felting, rinsing and drying...

...I trimmed it square and sewed the two backing pieces to it.

Note: The pillow form seems to fit better...

...if you sew the square somewhat smaller than the form...

...and create a large overlap in the two backing pieces.

I love the love-ly pillowcover. You did a great job. The cotton gauze is a good idea to create a nice firm mat. Greetings.... Peebee

Suzanne and Peebee--I hope you won't get tired of my pillows...
I've been making a lot of them, lately, for Christmas gifts!

I think I'll have to try a cushion cover next. I really like these ones you're making.

Heather, You are such an adventurous spirit, and it sounds like you are having so many adventures. How fun! Love your pillow coverings and the scarves.
Quick note, my address is now cameronsthreads instead of cameronscreations. Too many folks using the other. Hugs

Your pillow is really cute. How neat that you can actually write words so nicely and incorporate it into the felted project. I had no idea. :) Congrats!
