Circular Weaving-To-Felted Purse- Part 2

Making pre-felt using bright wool batts...

...and cutting two large circles from the fully dried sheet.

Pinning my original circular weaving to the first piece of pre-felt...

...and my latest woven circle to the second.

Carefully machine basting each circle into place.

Even though the stitching caused the second circle to pucker a bit...

                                                         ...it's not a worry...

...since the finished purse is designed to have a curvature, as well.

Placing the first circle face up on a sheet of bubble wrap...

...and wetting it out with warm, soapy water.

Covering the whole shebang with a foam resist...

...and placing the second circle face down onto its surface...

...creating a 'fiber sandwich' with a yummy foam filling! ;)

Adding additional bright fiber to cover the bare edges of the resist...

...and applying two layers of white merino to the project surface...

                                                           ...on each side.

                                                 Next time: the finished purse...

...with green leather strap and closure.
