"Caps For Sale" Hat- Part 2 of ?

Laying out wool from a purple batt (with cotton dots).

Flipping the resist to side two.

                                                       Wetting the project out.

                                                     Mid-way through felting...

...a hole is cut into the soft pre-felt...

                                                 ...and the resist is removed.

The finished cap, shaped for drying.

Because the cap-making procedure is pretty straightforward for me now...

...I 'branch out' and make two of them at a time! Woohoo! ;)

Wrapping the 'rays' to side two...

...and covering the resists with wool.

                                                    Mid-way through felting...

...a hole is cut into each cap...

...and the resists are removed prior to fulling and shaping.

                                                 A mixed-color pair is started...

                                               ...in exactly the same manner...

...and this time, I even stack them for rolling!

The colorful pair, mid-way through felting.

Next time: I move on from caps (finally!)...

...and begin the monkey's face! ;)
