'Rocky Mountain' Hats- Part 1 of 2

Tylar...happily wielding a pair of scissors...

...as she lays out bits of subtle, earth-toned silks.

Cathy chose bold colors and prints for hers...

...(and yes, there was a bit of arm-twisting involved!)...

...but they muted down beautifully in the finished hat!

Beginning the layout for my own hat (front)...

                                                                       ...and back.

While felting with friends, there's always a lot of laughter!

Covering the silk pieces with a layer of corriedale pre-felt...

...plus additional roving donated by a sheep named Moochi! :)

Two of the four finished hats, and bittersweet smiles all around...

...as we head for the airport and home!

Next time: close-up photos of my hat.

I hope Moochi was pleased with what you did with his fleece!

ooooh, I love how all three hats look laying out prior to felting. Super Sassy! I can't wait to see your finished hat.

Beautiful hats! Love the shape and the muted colours.

Rachel--I'm afraid that Moochi has been gamboling in the 'great pasture in the sky' for some time, now (through no fault of the fleece collection, however!!) :)
Andrea--They were a lot of fun to make!
Deborah--Thanks! Using the aggressive corriedale roving pretty much guaranteed a muted result...that's why I asked the girls to start a bit 'brighter' than they usually would. :)
