Paisley Apron- Part 1 of 2

Drawing cutting lines on the back side of my fabric...


                                      ...and stitching the raw edges together... 



                                                      ...to form a cylinder.



                                     Cutting along the lines with a pair of scissors...

                                      ...results in yards of continuous bias tape.



                                      Laying out the pattern pieces, prior to cutting.



                                                  Pinning one side to the front...



                                                      ...and then the other...

                                             ...then stitching up the side seams.



                                                   Applying the bias tape...



                                             ...to the raw edges of the apron.



                                         Using the same pattern as I did here...

                          ...and using bias tape made from the apron fabric this time...

                                         ...(rather than from contrasting fabric)...  

                                  ...I set out to make a present for a felting friend.

                                            Next time: the finished apron...

                                        ...and my 'matchy-matchy' wallpaper(!) :)

Angela-The sewing bit would be a lot less fiddly if made in felt!!
