Laying out corriedale and merino roving...
...in colors that I love!
Adding fabric elements...
...and dyed silk cocoon snippets...
...then wetting it out.
I hid things under foam resists...
...or trapped them under pieces of silk gauze...
...for a later reveal.
...felting has begun!
I took the title for today's post...
...from a comment that my instructor made about this piece.
For those of you familiar with my work...
...I think you'll agree with Fiona that it's a bit more 'me'! :)
Next time: close-up details of the finished project.

This is so stinkin' awesome! These are so your colors. I cannot wait to see the finished piece with all of the details.
This is going to be a lovely piece of pre-felt for you to make any number of lovely things with.
I'm starting to come to the conclusion, that if I were every to get into this type of fiber art, I would have fun making pieces of felted cloth, and then sewing them into what I wanted, better than trying to create the what I wanted directly. It just seems to me using pre-felted cloth would just work easier and quicker. LOL
Kelly--Hahaha...I always end up back at these colors, don't I?!?
Sandie--You'll see that this particular finished project has lots of parts which 'stick out'...which does sort of limit one's options for 'turning it into' something. :) In any case, I will probably hang this one in the studio since I like the way it came out.
It does indeed look "Very Heather", but it's good to know you have an identifiable personal style!
Rachel--...and preferred colors! :)
