After blocking and drying the piece...
...I trimmed an opening in the felt (to make it easier to insert the journal).
I like to use standard, marbled Composition Books for the paper within...
...since they're easy to find and replace if the first one gets filled with sketches or notes.
I gave this journal to an 'old school', Italian mason who did some work for me recently...
...and he is now using it to store client phone numbers and project ideas.
Next time: a finished WIP...
...I found the perfect button for my eco-dyed purse! :)

Brigitte--I'm looking forward to seeing your journal cover when you try one! XXO-
It's wonderful - and a great design for the recipient!
Rachel--Thank-you! My mason doesn't have a computer or I-Phone, so physical note-keeping is still a way of life with him...otherwise, this may not have been an ideal gift. :)
I love what you have created! So beautiful and useful.
Love! How did you get it to fit your notebook the first time? I have so many covers that never end up fitting any of my comp. books! I like the process of wrapping the resist in the yarn. If you ever need more yarn, let me know!
I signed up for a class using yarn and nuno felting. So maybe that will help me bust this stash!
Andria--I'm glad that you like this one! I have several more coming up in the weeks ahead, too!

Kelly--You know how I feel about your yarn
(covet!). :)
Absolutely gorgeous Heather! How lovely that your mason is using it already :)

Deborah--Thanks! I found the green a very soothing color to work with for some reason...and I'm glad that it won't just be shoved in a drawer somewhere! :)
Terrific! Simply good idea of yarns and leaves. Love the nature look. Holding and writing with it is so pleasing!
Terriea--Thanks! Leaves always make me happy, too! :)
