Cleveland Rocks!! Part 2

More fantastic art.

Across the room...

Closer...

Closest...with nose detail (remarkable!).

Our lunchtime haunt.

...with art of a different kind (hello Ghoulardi!!).

One of our absolutely delectable sandwiches!

I couldn't resist showing you a few more wonderful pieces of art from the Cleveland Art Museum...

...but the true focus of today's post is our lunch! :)

On our way home from the museum, we stopped in Cleveland Heights at the
Melt Bar and Grilled...

...and oh, my...was the food delicious!

Their extensive beer list runs to 3 pages...

...but they're best known for their gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches...

...and these are sandwiches like I'd never before seen!

They stuff them with things like meatballs, fried walleye, lasagne and pierogi...

...and the coleslaw, fries and the fresh bread that they're made from are absolutely yummy, too!

It's a fun and funky dining experience...

...with menus printed on the backs of old record albums, a 'famous people' mural wall...

...all-season holiday decorations, and even the original tin ceiling!

It was perfect for us peckish museum goers...

...and I highly recommend it if you're ever in the neighborhood!!

I don't think I'd ever seen such scrumptious sandwich. As far as I know we don't have such "things" in Holland. Wish you could sent me one :)))...hugzz....peebee

Deborah--It's funny how much we like the same foods, isn't it? When we finally get a chance to meet, we'll have no trouble picking the restaurants! :)

Heather, a catch up on your blog reveals you have been a busy girl this summer! Lol! I love the post with your daughters felting projects, and the lovely scarf swap, I'm a knitter, and would have never known your photos were backwards! I'm also a big sucker for museum inspiration, and love your sneak photos.
So glad your daughter was safe...
x, Val

Thank you for the beautiful artwork. I'm glad you had such a fun visit.

You also reminded me of the Drew Carey Show... I think the cast did a music video of a song called Cleveland Rocks, maybe for the opening or the credits.

Mary--I'm glad you liked the artwork! Yes...Drew Carey used that song to begin his show, but I mostly remember it from the 70's, when they played it on a local radio station that we listened to religiously. You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Rocks XXO-
