Lovely Asian-inspired painting.
My beautiful daughter, L, modeling my new shawl.
A view from the side.
With a chopstick shawl pin.
In all of its glory.
A close-up of the wonderful beaded edge.
My friend, Denise, is a Renaissance woman...
...painter, knitter, photographer (among other things)...
...and this is all in addition to her 'day job'! :)
We happily arranged to do a 'fiber swap' some months ago...
...and here are photographs of my terrific new gifts!
She used an alpaca and silk yarn for the shawl...
...that she purchased from our mutual friend, Andrea...
...and it's wonderfully soft and shimmery.
Now, it just has to cool off enough around here...
...so that I can finally have a chance to wear it!!
Thank-you, Denise...
...I LOVE my gifts!!!

You lucky girl! hugz...peebee
ooooh, it sure is beautiful! I saw it on her Ravelry project page and every photo just makes me want to reach through the computer and touch it. That yarn is dreamy to work with and I adore the shawl pattern.
The painting it beautiful too. You both got lovely gifts in your exchange.
The shawl is nicely modeled! I am so glad you love your swappy gifts as much as I love my messenger bag. :)
Peebee--I know I am!! :)
Andrea--Thanks for your part in this. The yarn is lovely and I ADORE my shawl!
Denise--My daughter says thank you! :)
I do love my gifts so very much!! XXO--
you know why you get so many gifts? because you're a "giver"
love them all and love you too:)
Riet--You are such a sweet friend...thank you!!
Just saw this on Denise's blog, both the shawl and the painting are so beautiful!
I love how your tote bag turn out. Never thought of adding stuffing to make a bag bottom flat and sturdy. Makes perfect sense!
Vivian--Yes...when my totes are fully felted but still damp, I stuff them with placemats and iron the bottom flat and the sides nice and smooth...and let them dry that way overnight.
you have the best swaps!
What a gorgeous gift! It's just beautiful :)
