"Inquiring Minds" Wanted To Know...

Close-up of hat with orange spirals.

Inside the hat.

My beautiful eldest daughter, S, modeling the set.

Since more than a few of you thought I was a bit skimpy with the photographs of the 'Dawn-style' hat, yesterday...

...and even more of you wanted to see a photograph of the hat being worn...

...I enlisted the help of my eldest daughter as hat (and scarf) model.

I think it looks beautiful on her...

...but I have to admit that I always think she looks beautiful! :)

Am just loving this hat. Your daughter looks fab in it. How big was the resist? I would like to have a go at making a hat.

And well you should think she is gorgeous! Hat and scarf look good on her.

Squeal! It is GORGEOUS! I love the closeup and the modeled photo. Your daughter is gorgeous and the ensemble is very sophisticated yet totally sassy at the same time.

Huzzah! You rocked the hat making!

Thanks, all, for your sweet remarks!
Fiona--It was my friend Dawn's resist that I used, but I'd guess it was about 15 inches wide by about 20 inches tall...with a sort of asymmetrical, rounded point on it. I think you can see the basic shape in the "Dawn-Style Hat" post.

Love the ensemble! Are you attending Nicola's workshop in MI? I wrote to Dawn that I'm interested.

Heather Woollove said...

Oh, Suzanne...you will have a GRAND time!! Unfortunately, I will not be heading back to Michigan that soon...sniffle...but I can guarantee you that you will have the time of your life with these two amazing felters!! XXO-

She IS beautiful and the hat and scarf do look beautiful on her : ) Love your colours here and the style too : )

Heather Woollove said...

Thank you, Aileen! As far as the colors go, I think that using variegated roving is rather a wonderful 'cheat'! I love using it, because it lays out beautifully without much thought or effort on my part!! XXO-

You got the "beautiful daughter" part 100% right, but I have to say, the hat and scarf look beautiful on her, as well. That hat is fantastic!! :)

Heather Woollove said...

Thanks, Sandie! It was fun to try something new with an experienced felter like Dawn!!

Heather, your daughter is gorgeous and your hat really cool! And gorgeous too. I've never tried a scrunched down hat like that.

Thanks, Robin! Yes--Dawn had so many great hats on display, I could hardly choose just one to make!!
