Inventive Hungarian Hat Workshop- Part 3

Adding teal roving to the project...

...while leaving the bottom of the hat...

                                                                 ...'as is'.

The overhanging wool is folded around the resist...

...and the project is wetted out.

The teal crown is inserted into the secondary (bubble wrap) resist...

...like a letter into an envelope.

Merino roving is applied to the surface of the secondary resist.

The hat is flipped to side two...

                                                 ...and the process is repeated.

The beautiful view from our work table.

Next time: I make cords and flowers!

"My brain it teems with endless schemes.." - is that it? You're going to have so many new directions to explore, aren't you!

Rachel- It is a cool technique! I used a similar process with the mask I made in Gladys' class. http://woollove-functional-fiberart.blogspot.com/2015/11/dollie-fantasy-mask-class-part-1-of.html
