Hungarian Rhapsody- Part 6

Placing sections of woven cords on the resist surface...

...and filling in the 'naked areas'...

                                                    ...with layers of hairy wool.

Flipping the project to side two...

                                                     ...lifting off the resist...

...and reinforcing the perimeter of the woven pieces...

                                                       ...with additional wool.

A few of my talented and beautiful classmates...

                                                             ...Diane, Violet...

                                                                   ...Alice...

                                                      ...and Sue, hard at work.

Placing polka dot embellishments on the 'inside' of side two...

                                                  ...and spirals on the outside...

                                                   ...to make the bag reversible.

Folding the overhanging wool fibers around the resist edges...

                                              ...and starting the felting process.

Next time: the resist is removed.

And again, I'm intrigued, and trying to imagine how they will turn out!

Rachel- This is a pretty cool resist shape. I had been meaning to try one like this for some time but never had.
I plan to tweak the idea further with a few more like it, since workshop projects are more 'incubator' than finished creatures. ;)

Very interesting design and techniques. I can't figure out how it will be. Anxious to read it.

Terriea--This is 'your' kind of project! (I can see you making these and dyeing them!!)
