Bovine Sari Silk Hat- Part 4

The finished hat...


                                                                  ...drying.



                                The merino fibers have 'overtaken' the silk design...



                                 ...except in the areas where the silk was doubled...



                                                 ...(at the edges of the resist).



                                                        Hand-stitching a hem.



                               I fiddled with the finished 'style' of this hat for awhile...



                                        ...landing on a version with a double fold...



                                                       ...and a smooth crown...



                                       ...that shows its muted print to advantage.

The blue background with the opaque continental shapes emerging from the oceans is intriguing. Quite lovely.
