Pleated Silk Nuno Scarf- Part 2 of 2

Fulling the scarf...

                                                     ...and squaring it up.

The stitched-in pleats remain quite visible...

...especially in the middle third of the scarf...

...where only brown wool was applied.

                                                          On the wool side...

...tussah silk circles provide color, texture...

                                                    ...and a bit of shimmer.

The ends of the finished scarf...

                                             ...show muted gradations of color...

                                                    ...from the variegated wool.

                                             Because of the machine-pleating...

                                              ...the resulting texture is lovely...

...but it has a slightly 'crunchy' feel to it...

...(which I hope will soften with wear).

In future, I would restrict this pleated silk...

...to table runners or other non-wearables.

You may well find it will soften, but regardless, it looks lovely and I'm sure you will enoy wearing it!

Rachel- It's a gift (for a non blog reader!) so I think I'll suggest wearing it next to a coat, rather than skin, if it's an issue. :)
