Yarn-Embellished Journal Cover- Part 1 of ?

Laying out lengths of yarn...

...and covering them with bits of roving in 'tiger colors'.

Adding a second layer of wool...

                                                ...perpendicular to the first...

...and flipping the project to side two.

Folding in the lengths of yarn...

                                             ...and covering both side two...

                                                            ...and side one...

                                               ...with additional layers of roving.

(A dark wool dot is added to mark the 'decorated side'.)

                                                    Mid-way through felting...

...a slit is cut into the 'non decorated side'...

                                                       ...for resist removal.

Next time: the project is turned right-side out.

I stil love the way you set up your posts :) Felting feels like ages ago for me... seeing this reminds me how is was. Not sure if i wil pick it up again, whom knows. But i do have loads of wool and other supplies stock....

Kim- Your creativity has just taken a different form this year. Felting is always patiently waiting for you, when-and-if you're ready to start again.
Rachel--Hahaha...me, too! :)
