Barcelona 2015- Casa Batlló

You cannot tour Barcelona...

...without being exposed in some fashion...

...to the opulence and colorful excess of Antoni Gaudí!

Casa Batlló  (known locally as the "House of Bones")...

...is filled with his wonderful Modernist details.

There are organically-shaped windows of colored glass...

                                                    ...and lustrous ceramics...

                                                      ...sinuous white walls...

...and some rather menacing iron fencing!

                                                  Meanwhile, up on the roof...

                                                           ...a dragon sleeps! :)

I took an extended European holiday this spring...

...and Barcelona was my first stop.

                                                              Stay tuned...

                                               ...there's more color ahead!

I spent a week in Barcelona last year with Road Scholar and enjoyed every minute. Gaudi was awesome, but we also enjoyed a day at the Joan Miro Museum. I keep thinking about translating the trip into felt but have not had a brainstorm yet. Luvswool.

Luvswool--We toured the Miro museum as well, but I was not in a 'photo taking' mood that day and unfortunately, I think I only have exterior shots. Trips are great sources of inspiration for feltmaking, but you're right...sometimes it takes a while after you are home again for the ideas to 'marinate'!!
