Angel Vessel For A Holiday Swap- Part 3 of 3

The finished, dried vessel...

...in lovely orange...

...with a bright green bottom and interior.

An angel brooch makes it a bit more 'holiday-ready'...

...and it's removable if a more simple look is desired.

This coppery brooch originally held a rather pitiful-looking gemstone...

...but my friend, Kathy, offered her 'beading expertise'...

...and we replaced it with some pearlized 'donut beads', instead!

This project was made for a holiday swap...

...in my new friend Jasmin's favorite colors.

I was happy to find a seasonal brooch in brass...

...that could be used (as shown) to adorn the project...

...or taken off and worn as a decorative pin on a blouse or vest!

This vessel is large enough to hold dinner rolls or mail...

...or could be used as a 'catch-all' for make-up or hair clips on a dresser.

I really like this vessel. It looks like the perfect Easter Egg Basket to me. :-)

I really love this and am dying to try this method of integrating the handles. I've made simple vessels before, and would like to know how important the prefelted base and border are - would a basket without them work?
Thanks so much for sharing the methods you use, and for your clear photographs!

Kathryn-Another excellent idea for its use!
Deborah-I love that you're going to try one! The 'base plate' of pre-felt is NOT necessary for this project. If you were going to turn it into a purse and wanted a flat base, then I would do it, but otherwise, no. The rectangular or oval 'frame' of pre-felt for the top is helpful, though. It provides a thicker 'attachment plate' for the handles.

That came out really nicely. I really like it. How neat to attach the handles too. You are just too good at this. :)
