I Have a New Grandpuppy!!
My eldest daughter and her boyfriend have a new 'baby'...
...a silver labrador puppy named Mason!
What a sturdy little guy he is...
...and what big paws he has!!!
Now you know why we ordered the biggest dog bed that L L Bean carries!!
I wanted to make something handmade for him, as well...
...so I felted him a toy bone.
It's too big to fit in his mouth, now, of course...
...but I think, before too long, it will be just the right size!!
I made a resist using foam floor underlayment...
...and covered it with tufts of yellow and bright green wool.
I used grey pencil roving to write his name...
...and after felting and drying, patched the opening by sewing in a piece of orange felt from a previous project.
As you can see, my daughter is in love with this little guy...
...and it gives me a glimpse of the loving and wonderful mother she will be when she has 'real' babies!!

He's a real cutie... and what a gorgeous colour.
Adorable Pup! The pillow is also adorable. I like how you added the writing using pencil roving. I'm afraid if I ever tried that, it would not resemble any word after I finished felting! :)
P.S Not many doggies could say they have a handfelted bone either - gorgeous :) xx
What a gorgoeus puppy! Can see how much your daughter loves him. Am sure she will be loving mum and you are a wonderful examply to her too.
Dot xx
You know I love doggies. I have never seen a silver Lab before. He is going to grow up to be a very big boy!
Mason is adorable, and it's obvious that Sarah is very happy with him. Since I have had a Labrador in the past, I know all too well how fast they grow into those "big paws." He will have no problem picking up his felted bone that his Grandmammy made for him. What a spoiled pup he is, already! :)
