In this glorious region of BC...
...you can't 'swing a cat'...
...without hitting a winery! ')
The scenery here is breathtaking...
...and we discovered that it's possible for a small group of dedicated workers...
...to pick up to five thousand pounds of grapes...
...in a single day!
It's back-breaking work to be sure...
...but their 'office' is enviable! :)
We also visited "Spotted Lake"...
...technically a 'saline endorheic alkali lake'...
...and a truly curious body of water...
...rich in concentrated minerals.
It's the evaporation of water over the summer months...
...that creates these fascinating crystalline mineral formations!
Back in Penticton...
...we availed ourselves...
...of yet another incredible lunch...
...at the Craft Corner Kitchen restaurant. (Yum!)

That Spotted Lake is absolutely fascinating!
Isn't it, though, Rachel?!?
I love the composition of that second photo, the bunch of grapes draped over the door.
Thanks, Kathy! (It was actually one of the cases they put the grapes in when they're picked!)
