"After Gee's Bend" Pieced Felt Purse- Part 5 of 5

Side one of the finished bag...

                                                        ...and in close-up.

Side two has additional textural elements...

...with its 'seamed' bright orange pre-felt sections.

                                                    With its expansive bottom...

...this bag has room for many necessities.

The mouth of the purse, pre-zipper.

A strap is cut from yellow leather...

                                                 ...and notched at each end...

...for an easy fit within the felt loops.

                                                          Variegated thread...

...is then used to attach the straps...

...and a bright orange zipper is installed.

                                                         The finished purse...

...in all of its bold and riotous glory! ;)

Lovely. Just the thing to carry on a grey and overcast day!

Deborah--Hahaha...I know, isn't it?!? :)
I originally intended to take this one on my trip, but ended up taking a 'flatter' leather, cross-body messenger bag (which I later replaced with a small Jack Wolfskin day pack that I bought in Zurich!)
