"Shadow Vest" Felting Retreat Project- Part 3 of 3

The finished vest...

...with striations of silk selvedge...

                                        ...layered, multi-colored 'tulip' structures...

...and areas of shadow and light.

The once hectic layout 'mellowed' during felting...

                                                   ...into a subtle interplay...

                                                          ...of tints, shades...

                                                           ... and textures.

The inside of the finished vest...

                                                   ...and the full exterior.

Next time: I start a new kind of hat! :)

Heather, what color is it. In one photo it appears blue, in another grey, and yet in another, grey and green. I guess it doesn't really matter, I'm just curious. It looks soft too.

Sandie--It's green, grey, black and white. You can tell better here: http://woollove-functional-fiberart.blogspot.com/2014/11/shadow-vest-felting-retreat-project.html
(Depending on the part of the day that I photographed the project, it changed colors a lot!)

It's beautiful Heather! I love the finished colour, pattern and texture!

Felting certainly did mellow it into a subtle and sophisticated piece :) The touches of green are just perfect
xx
