Silk-Edged Scarves

Laying out layers of bright blue, superfine merino roving...

...and adding a dyed tussah silk border at each end.

The piece, drying, after making it into a pre-felt.

After separating it into two pieces, lengthwise...

...I made additional cuts at each end for a 'fringe'.

Preparing for the final felting.

One large decorated pre-felt =

two finished scarves! :)

Notice the wiggly texture of the silk fibers.

Using brightly-colored superfine merino roving...

...and a handful of dyed tussah silk (in pale, sour apple green)...

...I created two soft-as-butter scarves for holiday giving.

The silk adds a shimmery bit of light to the ends of each scarf...

...and the special roving allows for warmth and against the skin comfort. :)

Looking very good, and with cold and wild weather they will be very welcome gifts!

Rachel-Yes...We've finally been getting seasonal weather, and it's definitely time for a scarf.:)

Good way to do with silk on ends. It does add shining. You're thoughtful to have done lots for presents. Touch of love.
