Negative/Positive Bags- Part 5 of 5

'Bling'.

A smattering of clear glass beads (double click to enlarge).

The bag back.

The finished purse.

I applaud those of you who've managed to stay with this rather lengthy series...

...and I promise to give you a break with my next set!

As you can see, the two bags are very much alike, and yet...not...

...simply changing colors makes quite a difference, doesn't it?!?

You'll notice that the leaves are darker green this time...

...owing to the larger amount of green roving that I tucked between the fabric and the white roving.

I hand stitched clear glass beads to the bag with Silamide beading thread (thanks for the awesome thread, Linda!)...

...and used an eggshell-colored vintage button for the closure.

This bag has found a new home with my friend, Denise...

...and I think she is rather pleased with it. :)

Wow!!! So lovely handbag!!!

Thanks, Riet and Galina! I think the beads were a nice touch, too, but I often find it hard to make myself embellish things. When I do, I'm always happy! :)

I adore all of the details put into this lovely bag. I do like how the green is a subtle "pop" to the black and white.

Thanks, Andrea! Yes...sticking to one additional color (green) worked out well.

I admire the way you make your bags! Love them and I still don't now how you make the inside. I'm trying to make some but don't really get it. I have to look for earlier blogs I think. Thankx for sharing this beautiful bag. hugzz...peebee

Thanks for all of your warm and sweet comments!
Peebee- Yes, if you search in the blog for 'bag' or 'purse' a bunch of these projects will come up with pictures. (I can't seem to stop making bags!)

I really like how this one turned out. The design really pops against the light wool. Very pretty!

Thanks, Jenn! I think I prefer the white, too. XXO-

I have to admit that I wasn't digging this bag at all during the process, but I LOVE how it turned out! You are so creative, Heather!

Heather Woollove said...

Hahaha, Lindy...I know what you mean. Felting is so magical, sometimes you have a big pile of 'stuff' that you never imagine felting in or down, and the end result is just completely integrated and wonderful. Crazy! :)

I spent a bit of time yesterday just walking around the house wearing my bag. The length of the bag strap is perfect - the bag sits very nicely at the lower hip.

I'm also looking forward to using it in the fall. I'm savoring the anticipation.

Heather Woollove said...

Oh, yay, Denise! I'm glad it fits you properly. I left it longer, hoping that it would suit you! XXO-
