Mixed Raw Fleece Winter Slippers- Part 2 of 2

The finished slippers...

...shown, first, with the wrong side out...

...then here, as they are meant to be worn.

A close-up of their nubby texture.

Notice the boingy little fleece appendages on the heels?

In my daydreams, they transform these lowly, earthbound slippers...

...into winged sandals, like those belonging to the Greek god, Hermes! Giggle.

With a dense layer of raw fleece and cushiony layers of roving...

...these slippers will keep my partner's toes toasty warm.

Working with raw fleece is always fun for me...

...and getting to use up a portion of my mixed 'bag 'o locks' was a good feeling, as well!

Because of the rust, black and cream roving that I used to wrap around the edges of the resist...

...the toes of the finished slippers have a rather calico cat look to them...

...while the rest of the slippers remind me of a pinto horse or a Dalmatian.

At first, my partner flirted with the idea of wearing them 'inside-out'...

...but the charm of the raw locks exterior won him over in the end.

After all, who could resist having wings at their heels? :)

Są super. Na nasz klimat są doskonałe. Oczywiście do chodzenia po domu, bo na dwór mogą być mało wytrzymałe. Chociaż walonki w Rosji wytrzymują. Fajny pomysł.

those look like they will be super warm! I could see my puppy chasing after the "wings" if I had a pair!

Karolina--Yes...these are indoor slippers only. :)
Kelly-Hahaha...you're right! :)
Deborah--Oh, me, too. I suppose that they would have given him some sort of 'pressure point massage' of his feet while wearing them inside-out, but they would no longer have satisfied my 'artistic vision'. Har.
FF-I guess they are!! (No toenails, though!!) :)

Oh, how I love these! They are perfect in so many different ways. I love when you felt with raw fleece.

These are SO fun, Heather! My own felt slippers (handmade made in Sweden, purchased in Peru) are wearing out a bit (I wear them across the driveway to my studio), and I am due some new ones. What a great idea to use cushy raw locks between layers! I hope you're not being socked too hard by Nemo!!!

You can buy galoshes and wear them outdoors. They are super!

Who indeed? What a great idea!

Lindy--Thanks! No, thankfully, we got some snow, but it's sunny and bright, now. :)
Tineke--Thank-you!
Rachel--Now it's your turn to try them!

I think I would probably try wearing them inside out, with the fuzzy stuff against my skin.

Tell me, what does your cat do with your woolly felted items? My Rosie goes nuts over anything like wool and alpaca. You might think it was catnip. If I had a pair of those slippers, she'd be attacking them and goodness knows, I might be tripping all over her. I have no doubt that they are cozy and warm though.

Sandie--My cats are 'shoe lovers'...boots, sandals,
and yes, slippers are objects of great interest for them! :)
Kathryn--I hope so! :)
