This is (finally) the last of my 'summer journal covers'!
For this one, I used small scraps of dyed silk fabric...
...and worked inside-out.
After covering the scraps with layers of blue roving...
...I felted the cover in the usual fashion...
...turning it right-side out and trimming it, to finish the process.
Next time: the embellishment begins!! :)

This style of cover must be much sturdier than the ones with stitched flaps. Must give it a go!
Rachel--Yes...try it and let me know how it goes! :)
Heather, a good base for something wonderful. I'm sure it will be perfect to add some embroidery or decor it somehow (buttons, sharms, etc)to give it a final look. And I'm very curious what you will do :)
I never get tired of watching the magic that seems to occur when mixing silk and wool! Another beautiful cover my friend. :)
I love it, the silk looks fantastic doesnt it. I've just made another one to with silk and it actually fits the book, yeahhh xoxo
Alevtina--Thank-you! I'm not usually one for much embellishment, but I kind of 'went wild' on this one! :)
Kelly--Thank-you! Yes--silk and wool were made for each other! :)
Karen--Awesome!! I'm always pleased when mine shrink to fit, too! XO-
