'Neutrals' Nuno Scarf- Part 2 of 2

Rubbing the scarf to complete the fusion of wool to silk...

...and to transform the scissor snips into holes.

Cutting even slits into the partially felted project...

                                                 ...to make a fringed edge.

                                                        Fulling the scarf.

The finished scarf with one 'fringed' and one 'Swiss cheese' end.

No shawl pin is needed for a secure closure.

The striped backside is just the 'tips overlap' from my wool layout! :)

My daughter, Hannah, modeling the scarf.

                                                       The pierced fin...

                                                   ...and the completed scarf.

Embellished Nuno Jacket- Part 3 of 3

Placing thin, flexible foam between the pre-felt layers...

...to act as a resist during felting.

Close-up details: the felted-in medallion and re-purposed nuno bits...

                                                ...the merino roving fringe...

                                                ...and lengths of ribbon yarn.

You can see how the superfine merino roving...

...easily made its way through the layers of silk.

                                                  The jacket collar (front)...

                                          ...and back (with yarn embellishment).

                                                     More close-up details.

                                                         The jacket interior...

...and a view of the back with patterned silk detail.

A leather oval is sewn to the silk side of the felt...

...to act as reinforcement for the button.

                                                 The completed jacket back...

                                                         ...and festive front. :)
