We Had a Wedding!- Part 2 of 2

From the bride's handmade cake toppers...

                                                 ...to my son-in-law's bouquets...

...and my felted votive candle holders...

...there was a lot of family love poured into this day!

                                                   My friends all indulged me...

...by posing with our table's candle centerpiece...

...for the promise of eternal 'blog fame'...

                                                           ...such as it is.  ;)

My eldest daughter and her husband.

                                           Me, enjoying my transient 'gianthood'...

...while flanked by my dear (and quite tiny) friends.

(Sisters, really...part of my 'logical' (not biological) family!)

The newlyweds take center stage on the outdoor dance floor...

                                                   ...but others quickly join in!

                                                         The darkening sky...

                                                    ...can't stop the music...

                                                         ...or the dancing...

                                                       ...or the sheer joy...

                                                     ...of this beautiful event!

What an incredible day in the life of our family!

(A big thank-you to all of you for your warm wishes and kind remarks!)

We Had a Wedding!- Part 1 of 2

The venue for my daughter's wedding...

...in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania...

                                                   ...was rustic and secluded...

...and my bedroom in the main lodge...

                                               ...was absolutely enormous! :)

My daughter made such a stunning bride...

                                                         ...don't you think?...

...and we were thrilled to have the most perfect weather that day!

                                       The grounds were charmingly landscaped...

...and the chapel, like the rest of the outbuildings...

...featured the warm shades of natural wood...

                                                 ...plus stained-glass windows.

The bride, three sisters and a (new) sister-in-law.

                                                       The (very) dapper groom.

                                           My four wonderful daughters...one, two...

                                                              ...three, four. :)

I was asked to read a tender poem...

...(The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer)...

...which nearly had me in tears. ;)

Our beautiful newlyweds, Rob and Lydia...

                                                         ...Congratulations!

Next time: their festive wedding reception...

...and my votive candle holders 'in action'! :)

Wet-Felted Wedding Votives- Part 2 of 2

Using a pair of sharp scissors...

...the felt 'sleeves' are neatly cut in half...

...and because they were fulled to a particular size...

...each fits snugly on its own wooden base.

On the day of the wedding...

...candles will be placed into each of the wooden wells.

I started with just a few...

                                                ...but over three days' time...

                                                      ...my collection grew...

...until there were enough to have several on each table.

I even made a few spotted ones! :)

(Most) of the finished wedding votives.

A special thank-you to my 'soul sister', Fiona...

...for gifting me with these wonderful wooden candle bases.

(We'll be sure to drink a toast of thanks to you and Graham at the wedding!)
