Weaving With Wool Roving- Part 2 of 3

I used odd blobs and lengths of hard to felt roving...

...and strange bits of yarn...

...for this second 'stash busting' project.

Fulling the piece in the washing machine...

                                             ...both narrows and lengthens it.

Remnants from my yarn stash performed 'as expected'...

...with the wool (or wool blend) yarn felting-in well...

...and the synthetic pieces remaining unchanged.

Scraps of scruffy black alpaca roving...

...create soft and fuzzy stripes in the finished work.

With a bit less regularity and more 'inclusions'...

...this is a much more textural piece than the first.

Next time: the most striated, geode-like weaving of them all!

Isn't it fascinating to see the changes caused by the felting...

Rachel- It does really alter the shape (esp. because I did it in the washing machine without any 'supervision') :)
