...featuring many of Gladys Paulus's incredible masks and other fine felt works.
Frome is a particularly warm and friendly town...
...with a great number of one-of-a kind shops and restaurants.
Gladys has a fantastic new studio in the midst of this shopping district...
...and we spent a lovely day there, during my visit...
...just fiddling around with felt! :)
We decided to reprise a pre-felt project...
...which I had first attempted under the tutelage of the spectacular Marjolein Dallinga.
We tried to stay 'off balance' as we worked that day...
...using wool in colors that we each 'resist'...
...and covering beautiful pieces of hand-dyed silk...
...with layers and layers of merino roving! :)
Mid-day, just as we were starting to flag a bit...
...Gladys's delightful daughter popped in to make us a 'cuppa'...
...and to see what 'trouble' we were getting into! :)
She was also sweet enough to indulge our gleeful giddiness...
...and snap this silly 'moustache' photo!
We finished the day by adding snippets of partially felted wool to the project surface...
...and left our pre-felts to drip dry in the studio, overnight.
Next time: Gladys and I head to Pearl's house in Herefordshire...
...where our pre-felts become felt!
