Making pre-felts...
...in black...
...and the three primary colors.
The blue one is a little on the 'teal' side...
...but it's to coordinate (later) with dark aqua pencil roving.
Using a length of PVC pipe as a 'drying line'.
Preparing for my layout...
...by cutting out pre-felt squares and rectangles in different sizes.
Utilizing the foam resist from an earlier wine tote.
(Notice the tape? It's where I had to rip it at the bottom to remove it.)
Covering the resist with layers of white wool roving...
...then adding pre-felt shapes and pencil roving.
Next time: the finished tote.

Neato! This should be interesting. You can mix and max those pre-felts to make about anything. Sort of Mosiac, right? :)
Thanks, Sandie! Yes...sort of a mosaic. Here are some images of his work: http://www.google.com/search?q=mondrian&client=safari&rls=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=UXLJUsbTAbiisATIuYG4DQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1918&bih=873
Aha - using the pre-felts will give you a nice crisp edge like those in Mondrian's own work.
Rachel-exactly! :)
